Basbousa

Squares of golden joy, soaked in tradition

Ever heard of basbousa?

Basbousa is a classic Middle Eastern dessert also known as Harissa, Namoura, and Kalb el Louz that’s rich, soft, and soaked in sweetness. It’s made from semolina, mixed with ghee, sugar, baking powder, milk, and honey, which gives it a slightly grainy yet tender texture. After baking, it’s drenched in a fragrant sugar syrup. Delicately topped with flavorful toppings: pistachio, almonds, or ashta whipped cream.
